Why Ironwood? This tiny outpost boasts the only ski flying hill outside Europe. The inaugural stop at Copper Peak in Ironwood, located along the Wisconsin border-or, as one racer said, “as far away from Michigan as you can get and still be in Michigan”-is one of three races held in North America (the others are Park City, Utah, and at Whistler Mountain in British Columbia, Canada). The Red Bull 400, in case you haven’t seen one of the insane promo videos for the race, is a 400-meter hill climb, ascending roughly 140 meters and finishing at the top of a ski jump. But, for the rest of us, the hurt ranks high on the list. Of course, that’s hyperbole coming from from a special operations soldier, trained to drop in on some of the hairiest situations around the globe. Moments after finishing the race, Sprouse said it was one of the hardest things he’d ever done. “Costs remain under control and the team is mindful of adaptions necessary for new financial regulations coming into force for 2021.Play icon The triangle icon that indicates to play “The directors consider race performance, Championship performance and a controlled cost base to be principal key performance indicators to assess progress towards strategic goals,” he wrote. In his notes to the accounts, signed before the budget cap was lowered after the global health pandemic hit, Horner stressed the need to keep a lid on spending. RBR itself officially employs only 59 people. RBT staff numbers show a continuing steady rise, with the last four years indicating a progression of 758, 793, 809 and 866 up to 2019, again reflecting the challenge the organisation faces in meeting the new budget cap. The financial contribution paid by RBT’s Austrian parent Red Bull GmbH, which represents the top-up of outside sponsorship and F1 income, was reduced from £68.7m in 2018 to £63.0m last year. RBT’s overall figures, which include those for RBR as outlined above, show income rose from £314.0m in 2018 to £337.6m in 2019, while costs rose from £265.9m to £278.3m. RBT also deals with AlphaTauri and does business outside of F1, notably with Aston Martin on the Valkyrie project. However, team boss Christian Horner has always insisted the RBR numbers reflect the true cost of running the actual F1 team, with RBT treated as a supplier. Get your hands on the official Red Bull 2020 collection via the Formula 1 storeĪssessing the team’s figures is made more complicated by Red Bull Racing’s relationship with their immediate parent company Red Bull Technology (RBT), which employs the staff associated with the design and manufacturing of the car. They declared a modest profit of £618K, down from £923K in 2018. The Red Bull team’s overall income remained stable in 2019, rising only slightly from £245.1m to £245.4m, with the team retaining third place in the constructors’ World Championship and therefore earning a similar amount from the F1 organisation. The budget cap of $145m equates to around £113m, less than half of Red Bull’s 2019 spend, although there are many exclusions. Like rivals Mercedes and Ferrari, Red Bull will need to undergo significant restructuring in the coming months as they prepare for the new FIA financial regulations and budget cap from 2021. The figures reflect that last year the team switched from being a paying Renault engine customer to becoming the works team of Honda, with the change in the commercial terms of their power-unit deal effectively cancelling out the inevitable trend in rising expenditure in other areas. Newly-released accounts, reported by, reveal the Milton Keynes team spent £237.3m last year, a fall of £2.3m compared to the 2018 figure. Red Bull’s F1 team spent slightly less money last year than in 2018 – but still face substantial cutbacks to comply with the FIA budget cap being introduced for 2021.

Switch owners are also treated to the extra zone, soundtracks, characters and other added content from the Amplified DLC that was released separately on other platforms. It’s a nice feature to try out if you fancy an evening’s dancing with your partner but don’t have enough room for an Argentine tango. Bust out your Joy-Cons, Pro controllers or grips and two players can pair up to delve into the dungeon’s dancefloors. One of the most significant features of the Nintendo Switch version of Crypt of the NecroDancer is its local co-op mode. Many of these options are unlockable through dungeon exploration so there’s plenty of reason to keep doing the hustle. Then Cadence is dumped into a lobby where she can use coins and diamonds she collects on her dungeon-crawling expeditions to buy helpful items and buffs from various shopkeepers, select characters with alternate modes of play, and choose what zones she wants to explore. It isn’t overly complicated and takes up the entirety of the pretty short intro cut-scene and tutorial to put across. That’s the basic motivation for Crypt of the NecroDancer‘s rhythm action. Her heart is taken as a forfeit, and she must boogie to its beat through the Stygian ballrooms to reclaim her ticker. At least you’ll be well served if you’re into chiptune, metal or, erm, more chiptune.Īdventurer Cadence has been struck down on entering the titular deathly domicile of said NecroDancer. Unfortunately, the Switch version of Crypt of the NecroDancer also suffers from the same limitation as the rest of its non-PC cover versions: a finite number of soundtracks. The combination of rhythm-based action and procedurally generated dungeon-crawling is still as intrinsically fun as it is on other platforms. Three years after Crypt of the NecroDancer hand-jived onto PC and Mac and two since it shimmied in the direction of PS4 and Vita, Brace Yourself Games has plucked up the courage to ask the Switch for a dance. Yet that’s all the talent you’ll need to rock along to Crypt of the NecroDancer: Nintendo Switch Edition. The limits of my bardic skills extend to strumming the opening bassline of The Human League’s The Lebanon on a rubber band stretched around a margarine tub. Do you fancy yourself a musician? I don’t. You there! Yes, you blowing on those Donkey Konga bongos. |
